According to the government’s plan regarding a new requirement system for higher education applications from the year 2020, all students applying for higher education are required to earn a complex B2 or C1 level foreign language certificate prior to application. Advanced level Baccalaureate degrees in language are also accepted as equivalent. To ease the financial burden, the program reimburses everyone under 35 years of age for their first foreign language certificate within a certain limit. This limit is currently 25% of the official minimum wage. How to apply? Following a successful exam, send your request for reimbursement to the Hungarian Treasury’s Administration of National Pension, New Generation Center Nonprofit Organization by either paper or electronic form, within one year of the issuance date of the language certificate.
